Illawong has been managed for more than 50 years by Illawong Ski Tourers, currently under licence from the Department of Environment and Climate Change.

It is now easier for members of the public to experience Illawong Lodge.

There are a number of ways you can visit Illawong Lodge.

• The NPWS conducts day tours of Illawong Lodge through its Ranger Discovery Programs held in January and at Easter.
• It is best to visit Illawong Lodge during summer prior to staying there in winter.
• You can help out at an Easter weekend work party. These activities provide an opportunity to familiarise yourself with Illawong Lodge prior to making a visit in winter.
• You can make a winter booking.
