Members have priority in booking accommodation at the Lodge in winter and summer. There are three accommodation priorities and rates: member, member’s spouse/partner and children, and guests accompanied by a member. Illawong is only able to accept bookings and payments from members.
Members may request bookings for as many times as they wish during the year.
Because the Lodge and its systems require special care for their operation, there must be an Accredited lodge leader present when the lodge is occupied.
To become accredited requires experience, confidence, care and some simple training.
From time to time, other organisations may offer reciprocal accommodation arrangements with Illawong.
Membership of the club cannot be transferred to another person and ends if you cease to be a member for any reason. Unlike some ski lodges, it is not a saleable share and has no redeemable monetary value.
You are entitled to claim one day’s free accommodation in winter for each day worked in a work party.
Illawong has been a club Lodge since 1956. Illawong Ski Tourers has a licence to occupy and manage the Lodge from DECC.
During the term of this licence, Illawong is required to negotiate for “broader public access” to the Lodge.
